Privacy Notice

Who this is

WiltshireTech is a sole trader business based in East Wiltshire, operating this website and responsible for the information submitted through it. If you have a question about your information, or want to ask me to correct or delete it, email Josh@wiltshiretech.com.

What I collect

Only what you choose to type into the enquiry form. Depending on which form you use, that can include:

• your name
• a phone number, an email address, or both — you only need to give me one
• your town or postcode
• your business name, and your existing website address, on the business forms
• which service or category you selected, and how you’d prefer me to reply
• whatever you write in the free-text box describing the problem or project

Alongside that, the form records which page you came from and which enquiry type you used, so I know what you were looking at when you got in touch. That is recorded as a page name such as “Business” or “Home tech help” — not a full web address, and not a record of your browsing elsewhere.

There is no account to create, no login, and no newsletter signup.

Please don’t send me sensitive details

Please don’t send passwords, PINs, payment-card details or other login information through the enquiry form. I never need them to answer an enquiry, and email is not the right place for them. If something genuinely requires a password later, you type it yourself wherever that’s practical.

Unfinished enquiries saved in your browser

If you start filling in an enquiry form, your unfinished answers may be kept temporarily in your browser’s session storage so they aren’t lost if the page reloads. This stays on your own device, is removed once an enquiry is sent successfully, and is normally cleared when you close the browser session. You can clear it yourself at any time using the “Clear draft” link that appears when a draft has been restored.

This is not an advertising or tracking cookie. It exists only so a half-written enquiry survives an accidental refresh. Browsers in private or restricted modes may handle session storage differently, and in some the feature simply won’t be available.

How enquiries reach me

Enquiry forms are submitted through Formspree, a third-party form service, which passes the message on to me by email. Your enquiry passes through their systems in order to reach me. Their privacy policy explains what they do with it.

Hosting

Like most websites, the server hosting this site may keep routine technical records — things like an IP address, browser and device information, the time of a request and the page requested — for security and to keep the site running. I don’t use that information to build a profile of you or to work out who you are.

Cookies, analytics and tracking

This site sets no cookies. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, no visitor tracking and no marketing cookies of any kind — which is why you aren’t being asked to dismiss a cookie banner.

The one third-party request the site makes as you browse is to Google Fonts, which serves the two typefaces the site uses. That request necessarily tells Google your IP address and basic browser information, as any request for a file does. No fonts, cookies or identifiers are used to track you across other sites.

What I use your information for

• replying to your enquiry
• understanding what help you need before I answer
• arranging a visit, a call or a piece of work
• preparing a quote
• keeping in touch about work you’ve asked me to do
• keeping the business and tax records I’m required to keep
• spotting and stopping spam submissions

I don’t sell your information, and sending an enquiry does not add you to a mailing list. WiltshireTech doesn’t currently send marketing emails at all. If that ever changes, it will be something you opt into, and this notice will be updated first.

Who else sees it

Only the services genuinely needed to run the business and do the work you’ve asked for — the form service and email provider that deliver your enquiry, the website host, and, where a job requires it, a supplier or service involved in that specific piece of work. I’ll tell you if that applies to your job. Information may also be disclosed where the law requires it.

How long I keep it

Only as long as there’s a reason to. In practice that means for as long as it takes to answer you and carry out any work, plus the period I’m required to keep business and tax records, and long enough to deal with any question or dispute that comes up afterwards. Enquiries that don’t lead to work are cleared out once they’re plainly no longer relevant.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask me to:

• give you a copy of the information I hold about you
• correct it if it’s wrong
• delete it, where I’m not required to keep it
• restrict what I do with it, or object to a particular use

Email me and I’ll deal with it. If you’re not happy with how I’ve handled your information, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. I’d rather you told me first so I get the chance to put it right.

Changes to this notice

I’ll update this page when the website changes, when I start using a new service that handles your information, or when the law requires it. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
